Community Oriented Policing

Community policing begins with a commitment to building trust and mutual respect between police and communities. It is critical to public safety, ensuring that all stakeholders work together to address our community's crime challenges. When police and communities collaborate, they more effectively address underlying issues, change negative behavioral patterns, and allocate resources.

Being a forward-thinking agency, the Quincy Police Department knows we cannot effectively patrol our community without help from our citizens. Whether that means you report suspicious behavior or the loud vehicle driving down your street, we need your input.

But community oriented policing isn't just about reporting crimes. It means we are working to get to know you better. We do this through Coffee with a Cop, town hall meetings, National Night Out, Farmer Consumer Awareness Day and the many other community events we participate in. And, you are invited to stop by the police department to let us know how we are doing.

We believe you have a voice and our relationship with you is based on communication and understanding. The Quincy Police Department will do its best to give you a chance to be heard.
